Misleading customers

Booked a hotel in Vienna and paid 2 months in advance. On website is written price INCLUDES taxes and charges. When received confirmation of booking and payment, was UNPLEASANTLY surprised that at the property I will pay ADDITIONAL CHARGES of €11. This is ridiculous unacceptable. Booking.com shouldn't mislead the customers. Very dissapointed. Contacted customer services and they confirmed that I have to pay additional charges but can not explain why on website this information is hidden

Worst experience with a company I’ve ever had

I booked a flight through booking.com to get my wife home after she sadly had to travel to her fathers funeral. I specifically booked her a flight that was not a “self transfer flight” so as not to run into any visa issues. When my wife arrived at the airport she was refused entry to the plane as she would need a visa to pass through Zurich airport. I phoned their customer support line they told me in no uncertain words “it’s not our problem” and hung the phone up! This happened more than once. So not only have I lost the money for this flight I have had to book another elsewhere! I will never use this company again!!

The date of the hotel where totally…

The date of the hotel where totally wrong in the confirmation email. I both called in and emailed booking.com immedieatly and told them the date was wrong for the hotelstay. But they said it was not changeable. So I was forced to pay the same hotelstay twice. And I still am discussing the invoice for the wrong date that I did not order (via Klarna), and it is almost 4 months of discussion now. Booking.com does not want to withdraw the invoice.

Be very careful if you join booking, com…

Be very careful if you join booking, com expecting better deals. Twice now I have found hotels that were significantly more when logged in as a booking.com member. My wife who was searching for hotels on booking.com (not logged in) found the exact same hotel £30 cheaper ! Yes sometimes you can get a small reduction as a member but they are quite rare. This is the second time I have found hotels much more expensive when logged in. If you use them don’t log on as a member or check on the website without logging in to make sure you are not being ripped off.

I have never met such perfect hosts.

I have never met such a perfect host and hostess ever. We were visiting Portstewart for my grandsons beach wedding at Harry's Shack, took pot luck with our hotel booking, but it was perfect. Tom and Ernestine certainly went above and beyond in their hospitality, (I need her scone recipe!!).but to actually insist on dropping and collecting us from the wedding, because we were going to have to drive there as I don't walk well, Ernestine simply said you can't not have a drink at an Irish wedding!! Would we stay there again? You can bet on it.

Awful service

Awful service. Booked hotel for important event and despite my payment going through kept getting told to send proof of payment and I kept sending it then get told my hotel is cancelled and I’m being refunded in 7-15 days . No support at all and now have to spend extra funds for stay elsewhere.

Booked a hotel in Amarillo three weeks…

Booked a hotel in Amarillo three weeks prior to our arrival with Booking.com. Arrived at the hotel after a 12 hour day and find out that we had no reservation! Took 30 minutes of the sweet lady at the desk trying to figure it out, she had to call her boss! She did say that it happened to another person last week! Thank you Holiday Inn for comping us the Presidential Suite since it was the only room left in the hotel!! I will never use Booking.com again! I will reserve my rooms with the actual hotel to guarantee after a long day of traveling my room is readily available!

Never ever use this

Never ever use this. They will rip you off and make your life extremely difficult. Directly book with the hotels it may cost you a bit more but if any hiccups you will looked after. Not like booking.com who put you on hold for hours then hang up and you keep on telling the same problem to 50 different agent of theirs. And no one would resolve it eating up your money and time.

Don’t trust on booking.com

I am really disappointed about the booking.com who are very helpless to help their customers regarding bad experiences, issues , refund etc . I am I touch with booking.com since 18 aug when I arrived to check in as per my booking , it was smelly , dirty blinds, unclean toilets etc. I have text , phoned many time to get my refund , but today received message from booking.com that that cannot help to get my refund .
I would advise to others , pease don’t trust them, you will not get any help in case of your bad experience.

SCAM COMPANY

Seriously trash!! They took money from my card and cancelled the booking then said it would be refunded within 12 days. It has been 3 WEEKS NOW and now they are changing their story to ”you will be refunded within 30 days”! Are you serious?! SHAME ON YOU! Shame! I will never in my life book with you ever again!

Answer This Question

Q:

When will my reservation be charged?

A:

Depends on hotel although that is never consistent. If worried, telephone either Booking.com or the hotel directly and keep note of what is said and the name of the person to whom you are speaking to in case of any problems.

by Bobbie P. - December 01, 2015

A:

Hi, I would telephone the hotel well ahead of the time you arrive. It completely depends on the hotel in question's own policies. I hope thT helps.

by Willard D. - December 01, 2015

A:

They will send you an email of an update you need to pay and will deduct directly from your card account link to that reservation

Q:

Hi I would like to make the payment at the hotel only after my stay there. Why does bookings.com ask for payment details upfront

A:

It depends on the hotel. I know of no hotel that is not going to need a credit card to secure the room? People would not bother to cancel, never show up, etc. Are you serious?

by Curtis - November 09, 2017

A:

That's how they work, just like many other travel companies. My problem is they wouldn't make any concession after I believe they screwed up my reservations (not making it 3 nights rather than the original 2).

by Sanders084 - November 08, 2015

A:

Hi Safeera, With booking.com I think it depends on the hotel. It is thw hotel's preference if they want you to pay upfont. If you book directly with the hotel, it is normal for tou to pay after tiur stay, wher they give you the

Q:

When I book a hotel on booking.com and pay by credit card, do I have to pay again when I check in?

A:

Please do not book with these people. Their a nightmare! Took me 3 month to get half my money back of them. Their adverts are extremely misleading.don't book please. Try travel Republic cant praise them enough Good luck Lynn

by Marion G. - September 21, 2015

A:

Hopefully not... either the booking.com Hotel will say no refunds or free cancellation. If no refund then you should be paid up... if travelling to the US... likely to have to pay taxes on top including any service charges... just check the small print. If paying via free cancellation - the whole bill to be paid on arrival. Booking.com looks cheap, but sometimes they don't give the true figure of the entire stay. Best of luck.

by Lee80 - September 21, 2015

A:

It's common practice for hotels to say they don't have your reservation or didn't receive payment. They then charge you and it's your responsibility to get your money back from the booking operator. This happened to me so many times that I never use a booking operator, I always book directly with the hotel.

Q:

How can i remove review in my hotel website

A:

The most pathetic experience I ever had. From the moment we entered the hotel till our exit, everything was not up to the mark. Meals were the worst part, no taste in the food, and can't forget the rooms. Looks like they build the hotel and never renovate it. Really regretted choosing this hotel on the basis of booking.com reviews.

by Nellie B. - June 07, 2019

A:

You can't get a business deleted or a bad review deleted. People who are going to these review sites are looking to patronize a business. They want to see what other customers experiences were before they spend theie gard earned money on using your company. The whole idea of honest and factual reviews are to give shoppers the big picture of what your business is like. I assume you want to remove your hotel because you have bad reviews? The best way to rectify this is to fix the situation with your hotel that may have gotten you bad reviews in the first place, and not try to scrub bad reviews off.
